Where Hope is Found

 Hope is a wonderful commodity. But what if what you had put your hope in has suddenly been stripped away? Disillusionment is that experience we all face, when what we had hoped to be true, suddenly fails to be what we thought it was.

Job had his entire life turned upside down and he faced the inevitable reality of despair and hopelessness.

“My spirit is broken; my days are extinct;  the graveyard is ready for me. . . where then is my hope? Who will see my hope?Will it go down to the bars of Sheol? Shall we descend together into the dust?”(Job 17:1, 15-16)

Charles Spurgeon said, “Kill hope in a man, and you have killed the man’s best self.” If hope is what gives us the determination to live, Hopelessness is what drives us to the depths of despair…
