"Unless I wash you..."

Nov 5, 2023    Will Jacobs

This week we begin a brand new series in John's Gospel, which we've entitled: "The Final Words." John 13-17 are traditionally called the "Upper Room Discourse." Jesus spends a significant amount of time speaking privately with his twelve disciples. In these final words of Jesus we are given hope and encouragement mixed with betrayal and despair. Nevertheless, Jesus ultimately comforts us with his divine words, and amazes us with his godly humility. This morning, in one of the most outrageous acts of service ever exemplified, Jesus washes his disciple's feet, in order to show them, not only how to serve, but how he came to ultimately serve through death on a cross.
