The Obedient Son (2:41-52)
Dec 28, 2025 • Will Jacobs
In the only glimpse we have of Jesus’ childhood, we see a surprising scene—confusion, anxiety, and a twelve-year-old boy who knows exactly who He is. Luke 2:41–52 shows us Jesus in the tension between obedience to His earthly parents and devotion to His heavenly Father. In this passage, we discover that long before the cross, Jesus was faithfully submitting, learning, and growing. This sermon invites us to see how Jesus’ quiet obedience prepares Him to be our perfect Savior—and challenges us to trust God in the ordinary, unseen years of faithfulness.
